A Mom’s Guide to South Walton

South Walton’s sugar-white shorelines make for the perfect family getaway, from everyday beach play to specialized events and activities. We’ve crafted a special list of mommy to-do items to make sure you and your clan visit all of the best family-friendly spots across the 16 South Walton beach neighborhoods.

Where to eat: Family-friendly restaurants are easy to find in the welcoming beach neighborhoods of South Walton. Try Pizza by the Sea for gooey pizza pies and more; this cheerful spot’s WaterColor location is also located next to a grocery store if you need to pick up snacks or essentials. Buster’s Oyster Bar offers burgers, salads, seafood and more to please every palate – with a kids’ menu to keep the little ones satisfied, too. You can even bring your furry family member along to dog-friendly diners such as Buffalo Jacks and Summer Kitchen Café. In between meals, pick up healthy snacks and juice at Raw & Juicy, and be sure to stop by one of South Walton’s many ice cream and candy shops for a sweet treat.

Family-friendly entertainment: During the day, plenty of family-friendly adventures await you and your crew, such as biking (there are numerous bike rental spots in South Walton), stand-up paddleboarding, family-friendly catamaran touring and horseback riding for all ages. Take the tykes to the Adventure Zone for zip-lining, rock climbing and more; or let them splash into Seacrest’s 12,000-square foot pool. In the evening, check out BLAST Arcade & Laser Maze or the Seaside Repertory Theatre.

Awesome kids' camps: The beach neighborhoods of South Walton regularly offer kids’ camps, especially during the summer months. Check the events page for updated information on upcoming kids’ camps. In addition to full-day and overnight camps, many South Walton hot spots feature kids’ craft nights and half-day kids’ outings.

On-demand help: Rent your kid and baby necessities from Babies-n-Town. This local baby supply rental company has cribs, strollers, bikes and more for your little ones.

Soothing spots for “me” time: Give yourself a break at one of South Walton's luxurious spas. Neighborhood beaches offer a number of standalone spa retreats; many spas are hosted within accommodation facilities, too. Or, pamper yourself with a shopping session at South Walton’s boutique stores, artisan shops and outlet malls. Browse a list of shopping and spa options and treat yourself to some quality time off.

Perfect places for date night: Try one of South Walton’s romantic restaurants, such as Fish Out of Water or Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse for an upscale evening with your date. Or, hop aboard the Solaris, a luxury yacht with dining, dancing and entertainment.
