Vegetarian Guide to South Walton

South Walton’s restaurant scene caters to all tastes and dietary preferences. In addition to offering a number of gluten-free options, our local chefs provide plenty of meat-free dishes for vegetarian diners. Check out some of our favorite vegetarian dishes in town.

Breakfast: Stroll over to La Loba’s Bakery for freshly made biscuits, pies, and more. The menu changes regularly, but La Loba’s homemade granola is an all-time favorite. It’s so tasty that this shop even sells and ships their granola to customers across the country!

Craving something savory? Try the black bean benedict at Another Broken Egg Café, which features protein-packed black bean cakes, grilled tomatoes, and poached eggs. If you’re a lacto vegetarian, Another Broken Egg also offers oatmeal, hash browns, and more.

Lunch: Summer Kitchen Café’s menu is loved by healthy eaters. The café’s red quinoa salad is full of nutrients to fuel you through a day of fun on the beach; the portabella mushroom roll-up is a perfect on-the-go lunch. Go vegan and order the raw salad, which features raw spinach, squash, broccoli, zucchini, and other veggies dressed in a sesame ginger vinaigrette.

Another great vegetarian lunch spot is Chan’s Wine World in WaterColor. A house favorite is the hot-pressed pimento cheese sandwich, which is served with homemade jalapeño dill tartar sauce. Options like the hummus plate and veggie quesadilla are other vegetarian items full of flavor.

Dinner: Vin’tij Wine Boutique is a cozy Miramar Beach restaurant with plenty of plates for vegetarians to choose from. Vin’tij’s vegetable romesco features seasonal vegetables sautéed in a rich plum tomato, roasted pepper, and almond sauce. Served over roasted garlic polenta and topped with feta cheese, this dish is both colorful and delicious.

If you’re feeling adventurous, take a trip to Basmati’s for the vegetarian special of the day. Using their culinary expertise, the chefs at this restaurant will create a custom vegetarian dish based on your preferences. Other vegetarian favorites include steamed edamame and veggie spring rolls.

Snacks: Need a pick-me-up during the day or a sweet treat after a meal? Raw & Juicy’s fresh juices will keep you energized and hydrated; Pop Stop’s fresh-fruit popsicles are the perfect healthy dessert.
