Alys Beach is known for its signature Bermudan-inspired, white architecture and charming courtyard living. Many visitors have driven down this section of Highway 30A, where white-washed butteries and towering palms line the street.

Visiting Alys Beach for the first time? Here’s what you need to know.

While soaking up the South Walton sunshine along the miles of sugar-white sand, Alys Beach has exclusive amenities available for its guests. Piper’s Kitchen beach delivery service is putting a spin on farm to table. Specialty drinks and fresh tapas can be delivered directly to your beach chair! Additionally, Alys Beach provides rentals for their guests, including oversized umbrellas, kayaks, paddleboards and more – perfect for an afternoon of fun.

Beyond the beach, there’s activities to entertain everyone in your crew! Start your morning with a workout or spa session at the Zuma Wellness Center, complete with private classes, lap pools, saunas and more. Former Wimbledon Doubles Champion TJ Middleton leads weekly clinics and private lessons.

The heart of Alys Beach lives at the corner of Nonesuch Way and Somerset Street – Caliza Pool and Restaurant. “Caliza,” Spanish for limestone, surrounds the 100-foot zero entry pool and creates an atmosphere that is both perfect for a quick, refreshing dip or an elegant night out on the town. After a swim, explore the grounds by taking a walk through Alys Beach’s nature preserve, just outside the pool gates! You’ll find endless pieces of artwork scattered throughout the grounds, including the Wooden Horse, the Tanzerin and more.

All of that exploring is sure to work up an appetite. Caliza Restaurant, which is open to the public, is an open-air restaurant and bar, complete with Mediterranean-inspired cabanas, serving up contemporary American cuisine poolside.

Speaking of dining, Alys Beach is filled with some South Walton staples that every foodie must try. Come early and treat yourself to one of Charlie’s Donuts during your stay, because once these treats are gone, they’re gone! If you’re looking for a healthier option, Raw and Juicy is a perfect alternative, preparing fresh vegan and vegetarian options for visitors daily.

After enjoying some sun, freshen up for a cocktail at NEAT Bottle Shop and Tasting Room, followed by dinner at George’s at Alys Beach. If you are able to visit on a Tuesday, NEAT hosts Uncorked: Wine and Song, where they’ll feature a bottle of wine and small plates, accompanied by live music.

Finally, what’s a vacation without entertainment? Alys is known for some of the best events in South Walton, including the annual 30A Wine Festival, Digital Graffiti, and Firkin’ Fete, just to name a few. After one trip to Alys Beach, you’ll know why visitors choose to come year after year.
