Sept. 1: Alys Beach 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run: 7 a.m.-12 p.m.

Join us for the 8th Annual Alys Beach 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run, presented by the Alys Foundation, on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2019 in Alys Beach. Located along Hwy 30A, the course winds through the resort town and ends with an oversized bounce house for kids of all ages, music, food, and beverages available in the Amphitheatre.

Sept 1: Baytowne Art Walk: 5-10 p.m.

Sept 5: Wiggin’ Out for a Cause: 6:30-9:30 p.m.

On Thursday, Sept. 5, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., the 5th Annual Wiggin’ Out For A Cause, with a Great Gatsby theme, will happen at Grand Boulevard Sandestin in the Emerald Coast Theatre space. Co-hosted by Velia Lala, Dana Saffel, and Donna McDonald, it’s an entertaining lady’s night out filled with wigs, hair dressers, photographers, makeup artists, wine, food and music. Sept. 5-7, 12-14, 20-21: Seaside REP Theatre: The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged): 7:30 p.m.

A fast-paced and absolutely hilarious ride through 37 of Shakespeare's plays in only 97 minutes! Three madcap men in tights using a trunk full of props, wigs, and outrageous costumes are on a mission: to bring you the entirety of the works of William Shakespeare in one fell swoop. Join them as they weave their wicked way through the works of the greatest English playwright in one wild ride that will leave you breathless and helpless with laughter.

Sept. 14-16: Transforming Communities Through New Urbanism: 9 a.m.

The Seaside Institute presents the Transforming Communities Through New Urbanism Sept. 14-16, 2019. Taking place in the Seaside Assembly Hall, the three-day symposium will include networking receptions, round-tables, television program screenings, a quality roster of speakers and more. 

Speakers from around the country will address the key factors, challenges, and solutions in transforming communities for long term success. Starting with Transformations after Diaster. Sept. 20: 19th Annual Sacred Heart Charity Golf Classic: 8 a.m.

The Sacred Heart Charity Golf Classic is a prestigious event amongst area golfers. Since its inception in 2002, the annual golf classic has raised more than $4 million for Sacred Heart Hospital, supporting a variety of departments. This year’s fundraising will benefit the Comprehensive Spine Program expansion that includes the addition of a 5th operating room and equipment supporting robotic spine surgeries due to the current four operating rooms that are at capacity, night and day, six days a week.

Sept. 21: International Coastal Cleanup at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park: 9:15-11:30 a.m.

Join Topsail Hill Preserve State Park on International Coastal Cleanup Day for a beach cleanup on Saturday September 21 from 9:15 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Help keep the beach safe for the threatened and endangered species that call the beach home by minimizing the impact of marine debris on the beach and in the Gulf.

Sept. 26: Emerald Coast Theatre Company presents The Fantasticks: 7:30 p.m.

The Fantasticks is the longest-running musical in the world and with good reason: at the heart of its breathtaking poetry is a purity and simplicity that transcends cultural barriers. The Fantasticks is a funny and romantic musical about a boy, a girl, and their two fathers who try to keep them apart. The narrator, El Gallo, asks the audience to use their imagination and follow him into a world of moonlight and magic.

Sept. 27: The Big Give Benefitting CVHN: 6-10 p.m.

This annual event raises money that directly impacts Children’s Volunteer Health Network programs serving children in need. The evening will be filled with live music, dancing, and live and silent auctions. Bud & Alley's will put together a delectable buffet dinner and a cash bar will be available. Dress in your coastal chic, put on your dancing shoes, and get ready for a memorable evening raising funds for the kids!

Sept. 28: Oktoberfest at Grayton Beer Brewpub: 12 noon-4 p.m.

Grayton Beer Company will host its inaugural Oktoberfest on Saturday, September 28, 2019, from 12-4 p.m. at our Brewpub located on 30A in Grayton Beach, Florida. The outdoor festival, benefitting Food for Thought Outreach, is the brewery’s nod to the famous 16-day celebration of food and beer indulgence held annually in Munich Germany.

Sept. 28: Eggs on the Beach: BBQ Competition at Seascape: 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

The sixth annual Big Green Egg Cooking Competition will be held Sept. 28 at Seascape Resort in Miramar Beach, celebrating the delicious results of cooking on the Big Green Egg smoker/grill. Cook teams will be smoking and grilling their favorite dishes while tasters vote for their favorites. At Eggs on the Beach, participants taste samples from 30 cook teams, enjoy live music, Knob Creek craft cocktail tasting seminar, ENCO Sports Zone, charity drawing and more. Proceeds benefit the Fisher House of the Emerald Coast and Food for Thought.
