There are plenty of ways to celebrate the Easter holiday in Walton County. Whether you’re looking for a kid friendly egg hunt or an activity to enjoy with your pet, there’s something for everyone.

Easter Meals To-go

Blue Mountain Bakery

Pre-order is now open at the Blue Mountain Bakery for Easter brunch and dinner meals. All Meals are precooked and packaged with reheat instructions. Ordering will close when sold out!

Easter Eggstravaganza at E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center

9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Members are welcome to attend the annual Easter Eggstravaganza! The Easter Bunny will be there to meet kids and age-friendly egg hunts will take place with the morning and afternoon sessions. More information about becoming a member is available at eowilsoncenter.org.

Thursday, April 14

 

Dog-Harmony

5 – 7:30 p.m.

Dog-Harmony presents the seventh annual, canine-only Easter egg hunt and social: Doggie EGGstravaganza! The fundraising event is open to the public at no charge, but for those pups wanting to participate in the egg hunt and receive professional photographs sponsored by Mills Photo Design, a donation of $15 is encouraged. Each participant will receive a bag for egg hunting. People prizes and puppy treats will be hidden in colorful holiday eggs and scattered throughout the lawn. Designated areas for pets over 25 pounds and under will be available and all dogs must be leashed. Guests will enjoy snacks courtesy of JC’s Gourmet, beer & wine, family-friendly games and great prizes. This event is presented as part of the Coastal Culture Series made possible by the Grand Boulevard Arts & Entertainment Program.

Please no prong, choke or shock collars at the event.

Great 30A Easter Race at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park

7 a.m.

The Great 30A Easter Race will take place at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park. Runners will be offered three courses to choose from: the Clean Feet 5K course, the Dirty Feet 5K course and the Stinky Feet 10K course. A portion of the proceeds from The Great 30A Easter Race benefits Friends of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park.

The Spring Festival/Easter Eggstravaganza

9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Hop on over to the Freeport Regional Sports Complex on Saturday for food and craft vendors. Watch a helicopter drop 15,000 eggs filled with Easter treats to kick off the children’s egg hunt. Information can be found on CityofFreeportFlorida.gov. Event is sponsored by The City of Freeport, The Town Planters Society of Freeport and Destiny Church. Main Street DeFuniak Springs
9 a.m.
Main Street DeFuniak Springs will host its “Easter Bunny Photo (H)op,” sponsored by The Pink House Aesthetics & Wellness Boutique in Downtown DeFuniak Springs, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.at The Opinion Place. Along with the photo opportunity, attendees can partake in an Easter Egg Hunt at participating brick-and-mortar Main Street merchants. All events are free to attend and open to all ages.
