Celebrate Cinco de Mayo & The Kentucky Derby in South Walton

WALTON COUNTY, Fla.—April 30, 2018 – May 5th is just around the corner and South Walton certainly has its fair share of Cinco de Mayo celebrations. Celebrate Cinco de Mayo in South Walton with your toes in the sand and a taco in hand!

La Cocina Cinco de Mayo Fiesta at La Cocina Mexican Grill in Seacrest Beach- May 5, 11 AM- 9 PM

Grab your amigos and get ready for drink specials happening all day, special menu options by executive chef Eric Bartholomew and live music featuring Neil Sebree and Jeremiah Campbell from 6-9. Epic Photo Company will be snapping photos to help commemorate the event.

Cinco de Mayo Throw Down at Shades Bar and Grille in Inlet Beach- May 5, 11 AM

Bring the whole family to Shades for Cinco de Mayo celebrations with bounce houses for the kids, Anne Cline performing live music for the parents and specialty menu options. Shades will be serving Salsa Verde, Guacamole, Salsa Roja, Steak Tacos and more! Drink specials are also available.

Cinco de Mayo Fiesta at Havana Beach Rooftop Lounge- May 5, 11 AM- 6 PM

Join The Pearl as they celebrate this Latin fest honoring the south of the border culture that’s enjoyed worldwide. Admission is free and open to the public with food and drinks available for purchase. Enjoy specialty menu items like Margaritas, Sangria and Chips with Pico de Gallo.

Derby de Mayo at The Bay on 331- May 5, Noon – 10 PM

It only happens once in a blue moon that The Kentucky Derby falls on Cinco de Mayo. Join in the Derby de Mayo fun and celebrate in true Bay fashion. Don your derby-style and enjoy a Hot Brown sandwich with a classic Mint Julep or wear your sombrero and grab some tacos and margaritas on the beach. Enjoy live music starting at 3 with Sugarcane Jane followed by Larry Fleet and Phillip White.

The Kentucky Derby & Cinco de Mayo Celebrations at The Hub in Watersound- May 5, Noon – 10 PM

Bring the whole family out to The Hub to enjoy a family-fun and festive day featuring the Kentucky Derby and Cinco de Mayo Celebrations. This all-day party will begin with live coverage of The Kentucky Derby and Derby Hat Contest with the winner receiving a $100 HUB gift card. Stick around for live music beginning at 7:30. The event is free and open to the public with food and drink available for purchase.

Cinco de Mayo Celebration at Grand Boulevard in Miramar Beach- May 5, 2 PM – 10 PM

Cantina Laredo Modern Mexican Food presents their 10th annual Cinco de Mayo celebration. This family-friendly event takes place at the Grand Park in Grand Boulevard just outside of Cantina Laredo’s restaurant. Enjoy free face painting, arts and craft and yard games for the whole family. Cantina Laredo’s tasty tacos, yucca fries and churros will be available for purchase along with margaritas and various Mexican beers. Enjoy live music by Hunter Dawson from 2-5 and The Graytones from 7-10. Chairs and blankets are encouraged, event is free and open to the public.

Down & Derby Fest at The Market Shops in Miramar Beach- May 5, 4 PM – 7 PM

Junior League of the Emerald Coast invites you to enjoy derby inspired fare from local restaurants, live music and superlatives for the best derby fashion with a live viewing of The Kentucky Derby. Guests can participate in contests for Most Elegant, Most Creative, Best Fascinator, Biggest and Most Colorful hat styles as well as Best Bowtie for the gents and overall Best Dressed “Colt and Fily”. Tickets are available for purchase online or at the door.
