October 4-7 Bay Baits Benefit: A Family Fishing Tournament & Party

Bay Baits, a locally owned and operated bait and excursions shop in Santa Rosa Beach, invites anglers of all ages to fish in the 2nd annual Bay Baits Benefit and enjoy the after party with proceeds benefiting Food for Though Outreach Inc.. The family-friendly tournament is set to offer prizes totaling more than $2,500 in Bay Baits Gift Certificates with categories for non-motorized and motorized fishing for catfish, flounder, trout and redfish. Activities begin on October 4 with the Captain’s Meeting and Fishing Seminar with hooks hitting the water no earlier than 6 a.m. on Saturday, October 6.

October 5- Sushi Making Class at Grayton Beer Company Taproom- 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Sign-up for a two-hour, hands-on beginner sushi making class with the Grayton Beer crew. They’ll teach out how to make your own sushi at home, where to shop for sushi ingredients, what to buy and how to make your favorite sushi sauces including eel and bang bang sauce.

October 5-7- 30A Blue Crab Festival at Redfish Village in Blue Mountain Beach

This three-day celebration of the 30A lifestyle begins with the VIP Wine Walkabout which features chefs from the Word of Mouth Restaurant Group, walk-a-bout style crab dishes and more, paired with wine. On Saturday enjoy live music, fresh seafood, craft cocktails and beer samplings along with cooking demonstrations and more. The festivities conclude with a champagne brunch on Sunday morning.

October 6- Emerald Coast Duck Regatta at The Village of Baytowne Wharf- 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Visit the Village of Baytowne Wharf for the 8th Annual Emerald Coast Duck Regatta. Adopt a duck to race for your chance to win the grand prize of $5,000. This family-friendly event includes a scavenger hunt, face painting, kids activities, free carousel rides, and the duck race at 1:00.

October 12- Jo Smith live at Grayton Beer Brewpub- 2-6 p.m.

Named one of the Rolling Stones Magazine "10 New Country Artists You Need to Know", Jo Smith will perform at Grayton Beer Brewpub on Friday, October 12 from 2-6PM. Just in time for the windows-down listening season, Jo released the feel-good lead single “Old School Groove”. Come hear her play and enjoy small-batch beers, craft cocktails and dinner at Grayton Beer Brewpub.

October 12- 30A BBQ Festival at Marina Park in WaterColor 6-9  p.m.

Join the staff of 360 Blue and the Sonder Project as they host the 2nd annual 30A BBQ Festival. Enjoy live music while you sample and vote for your favorite BBQ creations with beer, wine and more. General admission tickets are $25 and include all refreshments, raffle tickets will be available for purchase. Kids 12 and under are $15, 5 and under are free.

October 12- Culinary Adventures: The Fall Wine Dinner at The Pearl Hotel- 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Buy your tickets now for the Fall Wine Dinner hosted by The Pearl Hotel in Rosemary Beach. Tickets include a four-course chef’s dinner with curated wine parings from the Uncorked Wine Event. Tickets are $100 per person and reservations are required.

October 12 & 13- 11th Annual Baytowne Beer Festival at the Village of Baytowne Wharf

American specialty brews from around the nation will be available to sample and savor. Featuring over 200 domestic and international craft beers available at the event, offering an opportunity to learn about the different types of lagers and ales from a variety of styles. Live music will also be featured during the festival.

October 13- Grayton Beer Brewpub Cornhole Tournament- 10:30 a.m.

Visit the brewpub every second Saturday in the fall for Grayton Beer Brewpub's Cornhole Tournaments. 2-man team signup begins at 10:30AM and the tournament begins at 11AM. Competition is limited to the first eight teams. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes include crowlers, Grayton Beer swag and more!

October 13- Peter Bradley Adams Live at The REP Theatre in Seaside- 7 p.m.

Fold-Pop Americana singer/songwriter Peter Bradley Adams will perform for one night only at The Repertory Theatre in Seaside. Tickets are $25 and may be purchased in advance or at the door.

October 13- A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Grand Boulevard- 7:00 p.m.

Northwest Florida Ballet opens Grand Boulevard’s fall performance season with this free, outdoor performance. This magical production based on William Shakespeare’s famous play includes a happy tangle of plots and subplots about the loves and adventures of mortals and mystical beings. The presentation is part of Grand Boulevard’s Coastal Culture Series, made possible by the Grand Boulevard Arts & Entertainment Program.

October 14- 30A Half Marathon at Gulf Place- 7 a.m.

Starting at 7 a.m. the half marathon will feature elite athletes from around the world. Racers will begin to finish around 8 a.m. where the after-race party will begin at Gulf Place.  This unique out-and-back course is smooth and mostly flat allowing you to enjoy all the sites that Scenic Hwy 30A has to offer from stunning white-sand beaches, rare coastal dune lakes, natural forests, and quaint beach neighborhoods.

October 16-21- Flutterby Plein Air Paint-Out

This multi-day workshop begins with plein air painter Mary Garrish leading class Tuesday through Thursday with a special one-day class by Joan Vienot on Friday. Other plein air activities will occur throughout the festival weekend, including a Plein Air Wet Room Special Exhibit. For scheduling and other information visit the website below.

October 18- Blue Bag Movement Open House and Fund Raiser at Clint Eager Designs- 1- p.m.

The Blue Bag Movement, a way to brighten the day of people battling breast cancer. The bags are filled with items that may make a person laugh, be helpful in their cancer journey or may become a lifelong treasure. Join the team at Clint Eager designs for an open house with 20% of proceeds benefitting the Foye Belle Foundation and Blue Bag Movement.

October 18- Julia Othmer Live at The REP Theatre in Seaside- 6 p.m.

Julia Othmer is a “captivating” piano-playing singer/songwriter known for her energetic live performances. You can catch her live at The Rep for one night only. Ticket prices are $35 for non-member and $28 for REP or Institute Members, and may be purchased in advance or at the door.

October 18- Tequila Live at Mezcal Mexican Grill in Seascape- 6-9 p.m.

Sample an array of tequilas, heavy hors d’ouevres, new margarita menu features and drink specials during this event at Mezcal Mexican Grill. Enjoy samplings from brands like Sauza, Patron, Blue Nectar and more then vote on your favorite to decide the drink of the month. Tickets are $25 and benefit Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center.

October 19- Howl-o-ween Pet Parade and Pumpkin Drop in Alys Beach- 4-6 p.m.

Bring your four legged friends to the Amphitheatrew at Alys Beach for their annual Howl-O-Ween Pet Parade and Pumpkin Drop benefitting Alaqua Animal Refuge. A prize will be awarded for Best Owner Dog Duo and they’ll drop a giant pumpkin filled with sweet treats for the kids. There is a $5 entry fee per dog to participate in the parade.

October 19- Beer Release at Grayton Beer Company Taproom- 6-9 p.m.

Experience the musical stylings of El Dub Music in the Grayton Beer Company Taproom while celebrating the release of Grayton Beer Company’s new small batches. Guests 21 and older who attend will receive a free tasting of the two new releases, O.G. Kolsch and Fish Kazoo. This event is free and open to the public with refreshments available for purchase. Kids and pets welcome.

October 20 & 21- Flutterby Festival at Watersound Origins- 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The Flutterby Arts Festival, produced by the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County, celebrates its 26th year of the migration of the Monarch Butterfly through the South Walton area with art activities, live music, theater and dance performances, art exhibits, a butterfly parade and more.

October 20- Best of the Emerald Coast at Grand Boulevard- 6-9 p.m.

Best of the Emerald Coast is Grand Boulevard’s annual block party celebrating nearly 100 of “the best” businesses in the region. Winners voted the best in their category by the readers of Emerald Coast Magazine set up along the Town Center streets and provide samples of their winning products and services. This hugely popular event is a major fundraiser for the Junior League of the Emerald Coast.

October 21- Point Washington Preserve Bridal Fair- ** POSTPONED, NEW DATE TBD ** 

Point Washington Preserve will host their first ever Bridal Fair with local vendors, door prizes and more. Point Washington Preserve is South Walton's newest event venue featuring 10 acres of land surrounded by state forest and a 5,000 square foot events pavilion which can hold up to 350 guests. Come see their beautiful event space and meet local vendors who are ready to help you plan your perfect South Walton wedding. Event is free and open to the public.

October 24- Culinary Class: Curing & Pickling at The Pearl Hotel- 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Learn how to enhance meats and fish with curing, and preserve seasonal produce that you can enjoy weeks later with time-honored methods. Includes beverages and supplies, plus enjoy your hand-made pickled items as a take-away item. Tickets are $55 per person and reservations are required.

October 25- Barktoberfest benefitting Dog-Harmony at Grand Boulevard- 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Pets and their owners are invited to celebrate Halloween a little early at “Barktoberfest”. Dress up your pup and meet at Grand Park in Grand Boulevard to enjoy treats, live music and “pet & parent” matching costume contest. All proceeds from this free event benefit Dog-Harmony.

October 25- Throwback Thursday Cinema at The Village of Baytowne Wharf- 6:30 p.m.

Gather the family for a family-friendly Halloween movie on the Events Plaza Lawn at Baytowne Wharf. Featuring Hocus Pocus this month, Baytowne hosts a monthly “throwback” movie night under the stars. Lawn chairs and blankets are encouraged, event is free and open to the public.

October 26- Halloween Dance and Costume Party at The HUB in WaterSound Beach- 6 p.m.

Break out your costume and dancing shoes and join The HUB in WaterSound Beach for a DJ lead dance party on the lawn. Trick or Treating begins at 5 p.m. with the costume contest beginning at 6 p.m.

October 26- Noche de los Muertos at Caliza Pool in Alys Beach- 8-11:30 p.m.

Join Alys Beach for their annual Night of the Dead Costume Party hosted at Caliza Pool. This party is for ages 21 and older only, with costumes required. Wear your best costume for a chance to win the Grand Prize of $1,000. Tickets can be purchased in advance online or in person at Alys Beach Bike Shop, the Alys Shoppe or Fonville Press. Proceeds will benefit Children’s Volunteer Health Network Inc.

October 27- 2018 Harvest Market in Rosemary Beach- 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Celebrate the 14th year of the Rosemary Beach Harvest Market with a selection of 50 artists from across the region with art in a variety of media including fine and folk art, pottery, holiday décor and more.

October 27- 9th Annual Halloweener Derby at Seaside- 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Join the mascot of Seaside “Bud” and friends for the 9th Annual costume contest and doggie race. For $25 you can enter your dog for the costume contest, and if you’ve got a dachshund you can enter them in the Halloweener Derby both benefitting H.E.A.R.T Animal Rescue.

October 27- Grand Opening of Baytowne Ice Rink at The Village of Baytowne Wharf

Dust off your skates and get in the winter spirit with the Village of Baytowne Wharf’s Baytowne on Ice. The ice rink will be open daily from October 27 until February 2. Prices and hours can be found on the website link below.

October 31- Halloween on the BOO-levard at Grand Boulevard- 4-7 p.m.

Bring the whole family out to trick or treat along the streets of the Grand Boulevard town center in celebration of Halloween. Storefronts will be giving out treats, costumes encouraged.

October 31- Trick or Treat Street at The Village of Baytowne Wharf- 6-8 p.m.

Bring the kids to trick or treat through the Village streets and visit merchants for your favorite Baytowne treats. Steve Hall will play frighteningly good tunes on the main stage with crafts and balloon animals available. End the night with a spooky fireworks display at 8 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.

Monday Night Football at The HUB in WaterSound Beach- 6-10 p.m.

Every Monday night The HUB hosts Monday Night Football on the Jumbo Tron. Grab your lawn chairs and blankets and bring the family out for a fun, football filled evening. Refreshments are available for purchase, event is free and open to the public.

Tuesdays:

Wine and Song at NEAT Bottle Shop in Alys Beach- 5-7 p.m.

Join NEAT Bottle Shop for a showcase of select wines and light bites with live music. Case deals will be available on featured wines. $15 per person, age 21 and up only.

Tuesday Movie Nights at The HUB in WaterSound Beach

Enjoy family-friendly movies on the lawn at The HUB displayed on the Jumbo Tron. This month’s movies include Jurassic Park, The Goonies and Back to the Future. Event is free and open to the public, refreshments available for purchase. Lawn chairs and blankets encouraged.

Family Movie Night at The HUB at WaterSound Beach- 6 p.m.

Bring your blankets and lawn chairs for a family-friendly movie night on the lawn at The Hub. Admission is free and open to the public, food and beverage available for purchase. This month’s movie pairings include Aladdin with a surprise movie following, Pocahontas with Brave, Frozen with A Bug’s Life, Cars with Lion King and the triple feature for Halloween is It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown followed by The Nightmare Before Christmas and then Hocus Pocus.

Wednesday Night Bonfire at The Bay- 6-9 p.m.

Enjoy live music from various local bands on the beach by the fire while dining at The Bay Restaurant. Upcoming artists include The Shakedowns, The Pickled Pickers, Sugarcane Jane, Smilin’ Fritz & the Hoodoo Daddy’s and DJ 30A hosting a “Zombie Stomp” Halloween Party.

Wednesday Night Concert Series at The Village of Baytowne Wharf- 7-9 p.m.

Bring your lawn chairs and blankets out to the events plaza lawn at The Village of Baytowne Wharf for their Fall Wednesday Night Concert Series. Enjoy the musical stylings of Mose Wilson & The Delta Twang, Matt McCarty Quintet, and Boukou Groove.

30Avenue Concert Series- 6-9 p.m.

Join the fun at 30Avenue on Thursday & Friday nights on the green with exciting live music lawn games and photos from Epic Photo Co. Make plans to visit South Walton's growing shop + dine destination at Inlet Beach, take it easy on the green while enjoying the music of the area's top artists. Every Thursday and Friday night from 6-9 p.m.

Grayton Beer Brewpub Trivia Night- 6-8 p.m.

Join the staff of Grayton Beer Brewpub every Thursday night to test your knowledge against other teams. Enjoy $12 Pitcher specials, small-bath beers, craft cocktails and dinner. Teams of 6 are best, if you don’t have teammates you can make some new friends at the brewpub! 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners each week.

Live Music at 45 Central Wine and Sushi Bar- 7-9 p.m.

Every Thursday evening on the 45 Central “vine-yard” patio listen to the sounds of Tropical Breeze as they play from 7-9 p.m.

Seaside Farmer’s Market at Seaside Amphitheatre- 8 a.m.

Seaside Farmers Market takes place in the Seaside Amphitheater every Tuesday and Saturday rain or shine 8am-12p.m.! Seaside Farmers Market is on a mission to educate the public about sustainable practices by providing a well-rounded, green living experience. Vendors offer farm fresh, locally grown produce, homemade baked goods, beef from happy cows, heirloom seeds, artisan breads and cheeses, organic eggs, preserves, and doggie treats, to name a few.

30A Farmer’s Market at South Barrett Square in Rosemary Beach- 10 a.m.  

Come out to do your food shopping and pick up fresh from the farm produce, baked goods and pastries, delicious prepared foods, and much more. Take in the stunning views of Rosemary Beach where you'll find vendors lining the park with tents and all the good stuff. Grab a coffee from Amavida and sip as you shop.

Sunday Pickin’ at The Bay- 4-8 p.m.
