Halloween Happenings in South Walton

Locals love South Walton in the fall – the water is still warm, the busy summer season has passed and the sunsets are breathtaking. And if your beach break should happen to coincide with Halloween, all the better! Here’s how you can have your perfect Halloween in South Walton:

Barktoberfest benefitting Dog-Harmony at Grand Boulevard- October 25, 5:30-7:30 p.m.  

Pets and their owners are invited to celebrate Halloween a little early at “Barktoberfest. Dress up your pup and meet at Grand Park in Grand Boulevard to enjoy treats, live music and “pet & parent” matching costume contest. All proceeds from this free event benefit Dog-Harmony.

Throwback Cinema at The Village of Baytowne Wharf presents "Hocus Pocus"- October 25, 6:30 p.m.

The Village of Baytowne Wharf Throws back Halloween style with Halloween favorite Hocus Pocus. Enjoy the film on the big screen on the events lawn with refreshments available for purchase. Lawn chairs and blankets are encouraged, admission is free and open to the public.

Noche de los Muertos at Caliza Pool in Alys Beach- October 26, 8-11:30 p.m.

Celebrate in style at Alys Beach’s annual Halloween party at Caliza pool, Noche de los Muertos. There will be costume contests, music by DJ Drew Price and more. Tickets are $50 in advance or $60 at the door. Cabana packages are available with bottle service included, and all tickets benefit Children’s Volunteer Health Network, Inc. Costumes are required and the party is limited to ages 21 and up.

9th Annual Halloweener Derby in Seaside- October 27, 10 a.m.

This hilarious Halloween event in Seaside features dachshund races, doggy costume contests and more, including Seaside’s mascot, “Bud.” For dog lovers (and those who enjoy the absurd) this event is a must-see!  This fundraiser brings together four-legged friends for a day of fun in the sun with races, costume contests and more! Viewing is free and open to the public.

Halloween Open Mic Night at Songwriters Radio- 7 p.m. 

Come out for open mic night and participate in a cooky costume contest, raffles, and more spooky fun. Give back to a good cause while you're there by donating candy and/or costumes for Lynn Haven's Trunk or Treat beneffiting children effected by Hurricane Michael. 

Witches of South Walton Charity Ride & Brunch- October 31, 7 a.m.

SoWal Witches are gathering for their 15th Annual Witches of South Walton Charity Ride taking off from Gulf Place down to Stinky’s Fish Camp and ending with a gathering brunch at La Playa in Gulf Place. Event registration is available online. Tell your girlfriends and get ready to ride! Tickets are $50 which includes the ride and brunch and benefits Children’s Volunteer Health Network, Inc.

Halloween on the BOO-levard at Grand Boulevard- October 31, 4-8 p.m.

Bring the kids in their ghoulish best, and trick-or-treat around the town center for Halloween on the Boolevard.  Admission is free and open to the public and family-friendly for all ages.

Trick or Treat Street at Baytowne Wharf- October 31, 6-8 p.m.

Calling all ghouls, ghosts, and goblins to the Village of Baytowne Wharf for a spooktacular extravaganza! Trick or Treat through the Village streets where merchants are handing out favorite treats. Dance on the stage as the DJ plays frighteningly good tunes and end the evening with a spooky fireworks show over the lagoon. Admission is free and open to the public. Kids in costume get free face painting at Coconutz Kidz.

Trick or Treat Seaside!- October 31, 4 p.m. 

Enjoy live music, spooky stories from The REP theatre group, face painting, and trick or treating around the square with all of the Seaside merchants. 

Halloween Movie Marathon featuring "Hocus Pocus" and more at The HUB- October 31, 6-10 p.m. 

Starting with "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" followed by " The Nightmare Before Christmas" and then to finish it up, "Hocus Pocus". Refreshments are available for purchase, lawn chairs and blankets are welcomed.
