COVID-19 Travel Updates
As COVID-19 changes the way many Americans travel, we are keeping up-to-date information here to answer common questions being asked by visitors and those considering visiting South Walton. (Page Updated 9/14/2021)
- Walton County beaches and parks are open to the public.
- Florida restaurants, bars and nightclubs can operate at normal capacity by order of the governor. Social distancing measures may be in place and staff may be wearing masks or other protective equipment, but this is not required by law.
- Retail shops, gyms and other businesses are allowed to operate at normal capacity.
- Our visitor center is open, assisting guests (while maintaining social distancing) and answering phone calls.

Our beaches, parks and most businesses are currently open. In many cases, cleaning measures have been enhanced and other measures taken to stop the spread of COVID-19. South Walton restaurants are operating in accordance with COVID-19 safety precautions, and most restaurants in the area have reopened. Restaurant staff may be required by their management to wear face masks and gloves. By order of Florida’s governor, restaurants can now operate at 100 percent capacity. Accommodations within South Walton are open and accepting bookings. As properties adjust their operations to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, enhanced sanitation and safety precautions may be in effect.
