COVID-19 Travel Updates


As local businesses take precautions related to COVID-19 in America, we are sharing information here to answer common questions being asked by visitors and those considering visiting South Walton. Our visitor center is currently open in a limited capacity, as we will be assisting guests outside (while maintaining social distancing) and continuing to answer phone calls. (Page Updated 8/7/2020)

    • By order of the governor, all persons in Florida are encouraged to follow appropriate social distancing and safety protocols issued by the CDC and OSHA.
    • Walton County beaches are open to the public, although there are restrictions in place. Learn more here.
    • Florida restaurants can operate at 50% indoor capacity, as well as offer bar seating and outdoor dining by order of the governor. Tables will be spaced a minimum of 6 feet apart and staff may be wearing masks or other protective equipment.
    • As part of the governor's Phase 2 Reopening Plan, retailers, gyms and other businesses may operate at full capacity as long as they follow social distancing and CDC guidelines. 
    • Effective June 26, the Department of Business and Professional Regulation has issued an emergency order banning the sale of alcohol for on-premise consumption for businesses that derive more than 50% of gross revenue from sales of alcoholic beverages.

What To Know Before Visiting South Walton

Our beaches are currently open and we are working diligently to help stop the spread of COVID-19. For those visiting South Walton, please be advised that there will be some restrictions in place. CLICK HERE to learn how you can keep your family and the South Walton community safe. 



South Walton restaurants are operating in accordance with mandatory COVID-19 safety precautions, and most restaurants in the area have reopened to allow some level of indoor dining. Restaurant staff may be required by their management to wear face masks and gloves. By order of Florida’s governor, tables at restaurants should be spaced out (a minimum of 6 feet) and inside capacity is limited to 50 percent occupancy.
