The History of South Walton
Long before South Walton became famous for its beautiful beaches it was known for its turpentine, lumber and agricultural industries. Grayton Beach, established in 1890, was South Walton's first organized beach neighborhood.
Coastal Dune Lakes
Coastal dune lakes form a rare ecosystem found in only a few places in the world - including South Walton. There are 15 named coastal dune lakes here. Dune lakes can be both fresh and saltwater bodies, which allows a variety of fishing.
Gulf Place
With the charm of a smaller beach neighborhood and the convenience of nearby boutique shops and restaurants, Gulf Place has managed to capture the best of both beach worlds.
