Grown-Up Fun In South Walton
Once September rolls around and the kids go back to school, it’s time for the adults to “come out and play” in South Walton. Here’s a quick list of some great ways for grown-ups to have a little fun time of their own in our beautiful beach neighborhoods.
Cruisin’ – The Solaris is a spectacular yacht with 5,600 square feet of passenger space, but you don’t need to be a millionaire to enjoy its luxury. Solaris sets sail from Sandestin’s Baytowne Marina for sunset dinner cruises on Choctawhatchee Bay. Guests enjoy a great meal, live music & dancing, and some of the best sunset views in Florida.
Broadway On The Gulf – The Seaside Rep has a great reputation for its family-friendly entertainment, but it also puts on several shows every season just for adults. Check out the “Mainstage Season” offerings at The Rep’s home on the back side of Seaside’s Central Square, and prepare for an evening of top-notch live theatre!
Get Artistic – Art is just about everywhere in South Walton, but you can do more here than just view it. The Artists At Gulf Place offer regular classes in everything from painting to tie-dyeing t-shirts. Not only that, but every third Thursday, the group hosts a “Wine Walkabout” that includes art, live music, and of course, wine.
Timpoochee Tour – Challenge yourself to doing all 18 miles of the Timpoochee Bike Trail, and you’ll be rewarded with more than just a day of great exercise. You’ll get an up-close look at all 12 of the beach neighborhoods along Scenic Highway 30A, as well as a great sampling of beach flavors when you stop for meals or snacks.
Fish Tales – Don’t just view the beautiful Gulf of Mexico while you’re in South Walton, get out on the water with one of the several sports-fishing charters that leave right from the shores of Grayton Beach. There’s a good chance you’ll come home with dinner, too … whether it’s red snapper, grouper, triggerfish or the elusive cobia.
Spa Days – Relaxation is an important part of any vacation, and you can kick your leisure into overdrive with a visit to any of South Walton’s soothing spas. From facial treatments to body wraps to the uber-romantic couples massages, a day at the spa is the perfect way to put the “ahh” back into adulthood.
Improve Your Game – The weather in South Walton is ideal for year-round golf and tennis, and if you’d like your game to get better while you’re here, we’ve got great places to get lessons from some of the best. Both Seascape and Sandestin have professional golf instructors to help you, and the tennis program at the Tops’l Beach & Racquet Resort is among the region’s best.
