Tips & Trips
Four Seasons Of Fun
Many people think of the beach as a summertime place, but in South Walton, we’ve got four seasons of beautiful weather and a year-round list of events and festivals to go with it! Whether you like music or art, wine or beer, fishing or running, we’ve got a signature event tailormade for your taste.
Fish Tales
There’s the Big Fish, the Bigger Fish, and the One That Got Away. You’ll hear tales of all three at the Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Tournament, which sails into Sandestin every June. The annual six-day tournament boasts big prizes, dramatic public weigh-ins, and boatloads of fun for fishermen and spectators alike.
Beach Flavors
Autumn is a beautiful time of the year to see South Walton, and thanks to the annual Taste Of The Beach in November, it’s a delicious time to visit as well. This four-day event stretches across the area with wine tastings, dinner events, a charity auction, and more!
Artists & Athletes
Seaside is known for its thriving arts community, and each May the community celebrates all things artistic with the ArtsQuest Fine Arts Festival. In March, the town’s artists make way for athletes with the Seaside School Half Marathon and 5K Run, a fundraiser for the community’s outstanding neighborhood charter school.
Hooks, Lines and Singers
If you like your beach cool and your music hot, then you need come to South Walton in January for the 30A Songwriters Festival, celebrating its third year in 2012. It’s a great place to hear music in intimate settings from up-and-coming artists as well as big name stars like Shawn Mullins and Mary Gauthier.
