Bayou Arts Center
Nestled among the long leaf pines on historic Hogtown Bayou overlooking the Choctawhatchee Bay, the Bayou Arts Center is a true Walton County hidden gem and a peaceful destination for art, culture, heritage and nature. Through a partnership with the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County (CAA), the Bayou Arts Center is now open to the public for art workshops and also serves as a venue for art exhibits, meetings, reunions and small events that inspire creativity. The schedule of classes offers hands-on instruction in art ranging from mixed media design and basket weaving to lectures and watercolor tips and techniques, appropriate for artists of any level.
Rotating exhibits by local and national artists curated by the CAA are featured in the Studio and the Cypress Room, and the St. Francis Chapel features a 360 degree folk-life mural. Exhibits can be viewed by the public Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM. The Bayou Arts Center is open to the public at no charge.
